Travelers without REAL ID could pay $45 Fee for TSA’s ConfirmID beginning Feb. 1
January 30, 2026 — On Feb. 1, 2026, the Transportation Security Administration, or TSA, will introduce a new option to allow travelers without a REAL ID compliant license/ID or other acceptable form of identification to board commercial flights. All service members of all components of the armed forces and students at the armed forces' service academies are automatically enrolled in TSA Precheck. Their DOD ID numbers -- a 10-digit number that should be on the back of your Common Access Card -- serve as their Known Traveler Numbers.
