Tech. Sgt. Derius Jackson, 12th Training Squadron flight chief, was recognized as the "Hidden Hero" for January by the Schertz, Cibolo, Selma, Chamber of Commerce Military Affairs Committee Jan. 21 at the Schertz monthly Chamber luncheon. Jackson has volunteered his time with the Habitat for Humanity and the San Antonio Food Bank helping provide more than 2,000 meals for children in the community. In addition to his volunteering Jackson also served as the president of the Randolph 5/6 organization.

Members of the Leach family experiences a virtual reality trainer March 11, 2019, at the 559th Flying Training Squadron at Joint Base San Antonio-Randolph, Texas. The Leach family, based in Scottsdale, Ariz., spend much of their time traveling the country in “Ginger,” their RV. The video featuring their trip to JBSA-Randolph and their simulator experiences will be presented on the Season 7 premiere of their YouTube series, “Keep Your Daydream.
