314th AW helps support, maintain AETC’s student pipeline

In an effort to protect and sustain the Air Education and Training Command’s student pipeline, the 314th AW flew 27 Airmen in technical training from Kelly Field, Texas, to Ft. Benning, Georgia.

Air Force Staff Sgt. Michael Harrison, 502nd Logistics Readiness Squadron, passenger service NCOIC, directs a HMMMV from the back of a C-130 Hercules in support of Operation Faithful Patriot at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland AFB Oct. 29. The C-17 Globemaster III and C-130 aircrews provided strategic airlift to Headquarters Company, 89th Military Police Brigade, who are deploying Soldiers, equipment and resources to assist the Department of Homeland Security along the southwest border.

JBSA civilian’s ingenuity saves the Air Force money

Thanks to Brian Spalinger, an employee at the 502nd Logistics Readiness Squadron vehicle management flight at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, approximately 60 headlight assembly sets have been refurbished instead of replaced since May 2018, saving the Air Force an estimated $28,000. Instead of ordering new headlights assemblies that costs the Air Force approximately $418, Spalinger refurbishes the damaged headlights which not only saves the Air Force money, but it allows the vehicle to be returned to customer at a faster rate.

New Reid Health Services Center provides one-stop service

Bexar County designated as nonattainment for ozone
