JBSA’s new Joint Transition Readiness Center opens virtually

Joint Base San Antonio's newly activated Joint Transition Readiness Center, located on the Brooke Army Medical Center campus, houses the Soldier for Life-Transition Assistance Program. The program currently assists separating service members virtually through the many aspects of this life-changing event and offers full Department of Defense Transition services to members of all branches assigned to JBSA.

Joint Base San Antonio skies a "no-drone" zone

Drone technologies have advanced to the point where they are safe and affordable to own and will likely find their way into many homes over the holidays. These systems can be a lot of fun for people of all ages and appear to be here to stay. But before you fly, there are some important things to know about operating drones, also known as small unmanned aircraft systems, or SUAS, at 502nd Air Base Wing and Joint Base San Antonio locations.

JBSA activates webpage to disseminate most current mold mitigation information

The 502nd Air Base Wing has activated a new page on their website to address mold concerns at JBSA. Here, residents can find information on what to do if mold has damaged their property, background information on the issue and what the command is doing to remediate the matter.

BAMC celebrates 118th Army Nurse Corps birthday

Gate changes at JBSA-Fort Sam Houston begin Jan. 22

Beginning Jan. 22, major changes will occur at two gates used to access the west side of Joint Base San Antonio-Fort Sam Houston.

UPDATE: Heating repairs to occur at JBSA-Fort Sam Houston CDC Nov. 14

JBSA-Fort Sam Houston Main CDC, Bldg 2530 heat issues continue.  Currently
seven of 12 classrooms have reached proper temperatures of 68 degrees and
will open immediately to single and dual military families first.  
If you don't fall into this priority, we ask that you please make alternate
arrangements at this time.  There is a good chance the entire center will be
reopened today, however there is no exact time as of now.

JBSA-Fort Sam Houston CDC Annex, Bldg 1720, heat has been restored and
building is heating towards proper temperatures.  Please contact the center
at 221-3835 beginning at 10 a.m. to determine what time the center will
open.

Volunteer honor guard fills need at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery

The Fort Sam Houston Memorial Services Detachment is made up of 100 volunteers who perform full military honors for veterans interred at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery. The average member's age is 70 and includes veterans from World War II, the Korean and Vietnam Wars and First and Second Gulf Wars. To date, the MSD has rendered honors at more than 32,000 military funerals.
