Operation Shower is a non-profit organization dedicated to
showing appreciation and love to military families by hosting group baby
showers for military moms-to-be whose spouses are deployed or seriously
injured. Operation Shower also features a “B is for Baby” individual gift box

U.S. Military Veterans Parade & Wreath Laying at the
Alamo
Location: Alamo Plaza
Time: 10 a.m wreath laying and parade at noon.
The U.S. Military Veterans Parade Association presents the
annual veterans parade in downtown San Antonio. During the wreath-laying
ceremony in front of the Alamo, representatives from each military service and
special guests speak briefly then carry wreaths to the entrance of the Alamo in
recognition of the nation’s and Texas veterans. The parade begins at noon.
Spurs Veterans Day Game Celebrate America’s Military night
San Antonio Spurs vs. Charlotte Hornets

Time: 7:30 p.m.
The San Antonio Spurs host a Veterans Day celebration game
in honor of active duty and retired military service members. The game features
recognition of military members as well as discounted tickets for those that
are wearing and have worn the uniform and their families. The Spurs will wear
their Military City U.S.A. Pride Uniforms for this game. All game tickets
purchased through the website listed include a special military-themed Spurs
T-shirt. The T-shirts will be available for pick up at the game and
instructions will be emailed to the address on the ticket purchaser’s account

University-San Antonio
Location: Patriots’ Casa, One University Way, San Antonio

Texas A&M University-San Antonio will honor service
members with a wreath-laying ceremony, moment of silence and National Roll Call
on Veterans Day at the Patriots’ Casa. This event is free and open to the
public.
Celebrate America’s Military at University of Texas at San
Antonio Main Campus
Location: The University of Texas at San Antonio Main Campus
at NW Loop 1604, One UTSA Circle.
Time: 9:30 a.m.
Students, faculty, staff and alumni are invited to
participate in the National Roll Call by reading names of warriors who gave
their lives for our country. ROTC units will conduct a pass in review ceremony
in the Central Plaza Sombrilla. The pass in review is a long standing military
tradition that began as a way for a newly assigned commander to inspect his or
her troops. This event is free and open to the public. Parking is available in
Bauerle Road Garage for a fee.

Bexar County Buffalo Soldiers Commemorative Ceremony

Comprised of former slaves, freedmen and Black Civil War
veterans, the historic Buffalo Soldiers persevered through the most difficult
conditions imaginable to become some of the most elite and most decorated units
in the U.S. Army. The annual Bexar County Buffalo Soldiers Commemorative
Ceremony at the San Antonio National Cemetery honors these past heroes with a
keynote speaker, the reading of a memorial list, military honors and taps, and

San Antonio Symphony Veteran’s Day Concert featuring the
U.S. Air Force Band of the West and 323rd Army Band “Fort Sam’s Own”

UIW football plays Lamar University with 2 p.m. kickoff. UIW

active military during the Military Appreciation game when UTSA takes on the
Rice University Owls. Tailgating begins at 11 a.m. For tickets, call the UTSA
