JOINT BASE SAN ANTONIO, Texas –
Joint Base San Antonio has launched the My Army Post App, or MAPA, a new mobile platform designed to provide service members, civilians, retirees and family members with easier access to installation information and services.
The app is now available for download on Apple and Android devices by searching for “My Army Post.” It offers users a variety of tools, including the ability to schedule Common Access Card appointments, monitor gate traffic conditions and submit work orders.
MAPA replaces the previous JBSA mobile application, which will sunset in late June. The new platform features enhanced content management capabilities, allowing installation officials to update information more efficiently and deliver timely notifications to the community.
"We needed a platform that functions as a true content management tool, allowing us to deliver timely information and services directly to our users," said Lt. Col. Nicole White, director of public affairs for the 502d Air Base Wing and Joint Base San Antonio. "This upgrade provides a dynamic platform that better serves the needs of our installation."
The decision to adopt the platform also aligned with efforts to maximize existing government resources and reduce development costs.
White pointed out that because the Army has already successfully deployed this platform at installations nationwide, JBSA's adoption of the system leverages an established, proven solution. Rather than developing a new application from scratch, she explained, this approach allows the command to optimize resource allocation.
The app serves as a centralized resource for installation information and is expected to continue expanding as additional features and content are added.
"Our goal is to make it easier for members of the JBSA community to access the information and services they need, when they need them," White said. "This platform helps us do that while providing users with a better overall experience."
JBSA officials encourage members of the community to download MAPA and explore its features to stay connected with installation services and updates.
