JOINT BASE SAN ANTONIO-LACKLAND, Texas –
The 59th Medical Wing Science and Technology Directorate recently hosted Jeremy Nelson, PhD, during a visit to Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland following his appointment as the new Chief Innovation Officer for VelocityTX.
Nelson spent time engaging with leadership and research teams to gain deeper insight into the 59th MDW’s mission-focused innovation portfolio. Discussions highlighted shared priorities in accelerating medical solutions, strengthening public-private partnerships, and advancing technologies that directly enhance operational medicine and combat casualty care.
VelocityTX is a Cooperative Research and Development Agreement (CRADA) partner. Through this partnership, both organizations are committed to fostering innovation that supports the Defense Health Agency’s priority of generating and sustaining warfighter readiness. The exchange of ideas during this visit reaffirmed a shared commitment to translating research into real-world capability for the Joint Force.
