JOINT BASE SAN ANTONIO-LACKLAND, Texas –
The Norwegian Armed Forces–sanctioned event challenges participants to complete an 18.6-mile ruck march under established time and weight standards to earn the Norwegian Foot March badge while promoting endurance, resilience and joint-force readiness.
Participants carried a minimum 25-pound dry rucksack over 18.6 miles to meet Norwegian Armed Forces time and weight standards. The march brought together service members, civilians and contractors from across the installation in a joint physical challenge.
The event, which began with a 4:30 a.m. weigh-in and brought together members from across the Department of Defense and local universities, drew 1,377 registered participants, 253 volunteers and nearly 800 supporters, making it one of the largest joint-force events hosted at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland.
Top finishers were recognized during a ceremony highlighting individual performance and volunteer support. The ceremony recognized volunteers who supported more than 1,300 registered participants during the installation-hosted endurance event.
