San Antonio Battalion shines at National Recruiting Awards

By Christine Montagnese U.S. Army Recruiting Command Public Affairs

The San Antonio Recruiting Battalion showcased its exceptional talent at the Top Recruiter ceremony on Jan. 22, 2026, with four of the five honored Soldiers from 5th Recruiting Brigade hailing from its unit.

Held at Conmy Hall, the event celebrated the five recruiters who collectively brought 252 new Soldiers into the U.S. Army in fiscal year 2025. Their success demonstrates an ability to connect with their local communities and inspire a new generation to serve in a challenging recruiting environment.

For Sgt. 1st Class Aissatou Ndoye, one of the top recruiters from the San Antonio Battalion, the work is personal. "It provides the opportunity to give someone a chance to change their life," she said. Sgt. 1st Class Ndoye, originally from the West African nation of Senegal, is currently a recruiter in New Braunfels, Texas.

By connecting people with the purpose and opportunities of a U.S. Army career, recruiters like her are not only building a stronger military but also uplifting the communities they serve.

The 5th Recruiting Brigade recognizes the following Soldiers for their dedication and success:

Sgt. 1st Class Jacob Frett - San Antonio Battalion

Sgt. 1st Class Luis Munoz - San Antonio Battalion
