JOINT BASE SAN ANTONIO, Texas –
After a thorough assessment of pharmacy resources and to ensure the ongoing delivery of safe, quality pharmacy care, Brooke Army Medical Center and the 59th Medical Wing will be consolidating several pharmacies to maximize existing personnel and resources.
As a result, pharmacy services at three outlying clinics will temporarily close, and services will be diverted to other Joint Base San Antonio pharmacies as outlined below. This effort is intended to alleviate staffing constraints and to increase efficiency and pharmacy access for beneficiaries across the San Antonio area. We will continue to assess staffing and resources and will share any updates or changes with our beneficiaries.
We know this change may have a significant impact on our pharmacy patients and apologize for any inconvenience. Our commitment to providing quality healthcare services remains our priority.
Closure Details:
- Gateway Bulverde Clinic Pharmacy will close until further notice on Feb. 28, 2025.
- Schertz Medical Home and Westover Medical Home Pharmacies will close until further notice on March 28, 2025.
Alternative Options for Pharmacy Services
Beneficiaries have several options to obtain their medications:
Express Scripts: Obtain medications through Express Scripts home-delivery services https://www.express-scripts.com
Retail Pharmacies: Use the TRICARE network of retail pharmacies. For a list of convenient, in-network pharmacies, beneficiaries can visit https://www.tricare.mil/networkpharmacy.
Other JBSA Pharmacies: Beneficiaries are welcome to access our other pharmacies located on JBSA-Fort Sam Houston, JBSA-Lackland, and JBSA-Randolph.
