We're hiring: Army CID Fraud Special Agents

Department of the Army Criminal Investigation Division

The Department of the Army Criminal Investigation Division is looking to fill multiple positions in grades GS-11 through GS-13 to serve as Fraud Special Agents.

As the Department of the Army's only federal criminal investigative organization, the Army Criminal Investigation Division, or CID, is responsible for conducting felony-level criminal investigations impacting Army people, programs, resources, and capabilities worldwide.

Fraud special agents combine professional accounting and auditing knowledge, standards, and principles with the most advanced investigative skills and methodologies to resolve complex crimes associated with the procurement process and logistical contracts.

Eligibility requirements:

  • U.S. Citizen or naturalized U.S. Citizen
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
  • Possess a valid motor vehicle operator's license at the time of appointment; must maintain license while employed in the position, and will be required to operate a motor vehicle.

An Army CID Fraud Special Agent serves as a criminal investigator responsible for conducting investigations of suspected felony violations against laws of the United States.

They analyze cost accounting and test procedures used by contractors in researching, developing, testing, manufacturing, and delivery of Army major weapons systems and equipment worldwide and participate in large scale joint and task force felony economic crime investigations having national or international impact and interest.

Agents plan, lead, and participate in significant undercover functions to include surveillance and 'sting' operations. They also consolidate and evaluate incoming criminal information, identifying necessary investigative and data collection follow-up actions to be initiated.
