By Tish Williamson Mission and Installation Contracting Command Public Affairs

The Mission and Installation Contracting Command, led by Col. Freddy Adams, Clay Cole and Command Sgt. Maj. Jason Gusman, will host their annual Senior Contracting Officials and Directors Acquisition Training event in San Antonio, Texas, from July 30 to Aug. 2.

The 2024 SDAT will include in-person, training-focused, leader-led open discussions, working groups and breakout sessions related to contracting solutions to enable and sustain the Army of today and tomorrow. The event brings MICC key leaders together to review important themes and ideals like culture and operating practices; innovations and initiatives; and global operations.

The theme for the 2024 SDAT is “Maintaining a Steadfast MICC Workforce for Tomorrow.” Approximately 80 senior contracting officials, directors and planners across the MICC enterprise are expected to converge for the collaborative and specialized training event to reaffirm the command’s mission, vision and priorities, while sharing best practices, lessons learned, innovations and initiatives, ensuring the MICC effectively delivers the power of Army contracting to its mission partners.

Adams, who assumed command of the MICC on June 7, said, “During this year’s SDAT, we will validate and refine our mission and priorities to empower our workforce to consistently and effectively harness the full capability of Army contracting, ensuring readiness whenever and wherever needed, both now and into the future.”

This event is closed to the public. Members of the media seeking interview, photo or video opportunities are welcome to attend the event on July 30, 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. at the Marriott-San Antonio Airport with advanced coordination through the MICC public affairs office at (desk phone) 210-466-2440, (cell phone) 210-260-5834 or usarmy.jbsa.acc-micc.list.hq-pao@army.mil.
