The Diamond Sharp Award is sponsored by the Joint Base San Antonio First Sergeants Council and recognizes outstanding Airmen who continually exceed the standard to meet the Air Force mission.

Tech. Sgt. Nicholas C. Carmona
RANK/NAME: Tech. Sgt. Nicholas C. Carmona
UNIT: 341st Training Squadron
DUTY TITLE: Military Working Dog Lead Instructor
Tech. Sgt. Nicholas C. Carmona leads the 440-hour, 11-week Department of Defense Military Working Dog Handler course. He filled the first sergeant billet for 30 days, advised four joint service commanders on student and permanent party matters. Carmona handled eight incidents from prisoner pickup to distressed students and maintained operational performance for seven courses and 147 students. He coordinated a civilian death notification, liaising with five base and civilian agencies. Carmona also led a meal train/GoFundMe, providing 210 meals and $5,000 in family assistance, demonstrating a compassionate approach fostering a supportive environment.

Tech. Sgt. Jeffrey W. Mason

UNIT: 834th Cyber Operations Squadron
DUTY TITLE: NCOIC, 300 Cyber Protection Team
Tech. Sgt. Jeffrey W. Mason guided three Spring 2024 Community College of the Air Force graduates through the Pitsenbarger award submission process. His efforts lead to those members being three of six recognized at the graduation and receiving a total of $1,750 each from the Air Force Association. Mason filled in as first sergeant for six days, where he mentored and inspired 134 Airmen, provided vital resources and acted as a conduit for pushing the 834th Cyber Operations Squadron mission statement of "Bold Leaders, Mission Ready!" He also identified errors in an Airmen's DAFSC and education records, swiftly leading them through the  records correction processes, ultimately allowing the Airmen to receive a secondary CCAF degree and $450 Special Duty Assignment Pay.

Staff Sgt. Azaria L. Ivy

UNIT: 59th Dental Squadron
DUTY TITLE: NCOIC, Preventative Dentistry
Staff Sgt. Azaria L. Ivy chaired the 59th Dental Squadron’s Mother's & Father's Day appreciation gathering for 93 members. She liaised with the morale committee, leading four Airmen with organizing two breakfast events that honored the daily sacrifices from their families. As a charismatic leader, Azaria responded to an Airman’s account being hacked for $10,000. She sacrificed her administrative duty time to see these patients and enable her Airman to take the first critical steps in her account recovery. Azaria volunteered eight hours to the JBSA-Randolph Great Texas Air Show, assisting six medical stations and responding to 210 medical emergencies while safeguarding 400,000 attendees and aircraft worth $1.8 billion.

DUTY TITLE: Religious Affairs Airman
Focusing on the pillars of Comprehensive Aiman Fitness, Staff Sgt. Keyla M. Palomares led her team to coordinate with four agencies to revamp dorm dinners, bridging gaps in Chaplain Corps resources and building cohesion amongst 117 joint service residents. Palomares served as an Air Force Assistance Fund project officer, leading five campaigns across JBSA. She also advocated for four charities devoted to quality-of-life improvements, surging donations by 81% to meet the wing's goal of $180,000. She dedicated 14 hours learning advanced techniques to provide trauma informed care to "at-risk" members. Leveraging these skills, she triaged three members, connecting them with additional resources to return to duty.

Senior Airman Milad W. Alsabea

UNIT: 59th Medical Support Squadron
DUTY TITLE: Medical Technician
Senior Airman Milad W. Alsabea earned a certificate in Applied Behavioral Analysis, and tackled 12 credits toward his bachelor’s degree in psychology. He utilized his new skills and briefed 12 personnel on personality/lifestyle topics, promoting camaraderie for his flight. Alsabea was selected to coordinate the 59th Medical Operations Group monthly promotion ceremony, managing 12 volunteers and coordinated with four squadron leadership teams to honor three promotees, bolstering morale for 45 attendees. He reignited the unit's sponsor program, facilitating seven wellbeing concerns for two inbound members. He leveraged the command chief's priorities by ensuring a seamless transition to the unit, reducing a delay in in-processing by two weeks.

Senior Airman Jealyn M. McIntire

UNIT: 502nd Operations Support Squadron
DUTY TITLE: Radar Airfield Weather Systems Technician
Senior Airman Jealyn M. McIntire was hand-picked by 502nd Operations Support Squadron leadership to direct her squadron's four-person Unity Council Team, organizing four morale events and three “Airmen vs. NCO” fitness challenges, boosting unit morale and togetherness for 90 members. She also led two shifts in beverage sales during The Great Texas Airshow, playing a crucial role in generating over $1,000 for the squadron’s booster club, ensuring funding for upcoming morale-boosting events and positively impacting unit personnel. McIntire spearheaded the squadron's Beast Day, assembling and registering four sports teams, motivating 22 participants, and was pivotal in retaining the 502nd ABW ISG Team Spirit Award Trophy, fostering strong unit cohesion.

Senior Airman Jonathan G. Wilson

DUTY TITLE: Radar Analyst
As Booster Club President, Senior Airman Jonathan G. Wilson led two morale and fundraising initiatives. He organized the Annual Summer Float and a profitable burrito sale, raising $330 and fostered esprit de corps for squadron members and their families. He briefed safe practices for Motorcycle Safety Month, preparing six members for a weekend ride as a member's battery died in a stranded area. The team rode to a nearby town and secured a new battery, mitigating potential mishaps. Wilson completed SAPR facilitator training, priming himself to execute Air Force-mandated discussions. Geared with this knowledge, he serves as the unit's point of contact for advocacy, affirming prevention and response efforts for 59 members.

Airman 1st Class Kalynn Robinson

UNIT: 59th Radiology Squadron
DUTY TITLE: Diagnostic Imaging Technologist
Airman 1st Class Kalynn Robinson held a committee lead position as the squadron’s booster club treasurer. She assisted planning six morale events, including the first ever unit Combat Dining Out, raising $1,000 and building esprit de corps for 108 members. She mastered her 5-level upgrade training and completed 38 readiness tasks in two weeks. Robinson was selected over five peers to assume the permanent CT technologist role, typically assigned to a Senior Airman, mitigating manning deficiencies by 25%. Motivated by her squadron’s Dorm of the Quarter win, she liaised with the squadron commander and drove a "Storm the Dorm" event. She joined a team of 26 volunteers to deep clean rooms and tackled critical mold issues, improving the quality of life for 12 residents.

Airman 1st Class Stephanie L. Vang

UNIT: 59th Medical Logistics Readiness Squadron
DUTY TITLE: Medical Material Technician
As the squadron’s social committee treasurer, Airman 1st Class Stephanie L. Vang stepped up to fill both the vice president and secretary positions during a five-month gap, leading six events and successfully raising $1,800, promoting health, morale and wellness for 326 personnel. Vang guided an eight-member team to prepare and package 1,300 meals at the San Antonio Food Bank, improving the quality of life for 100,000 individuals, fortifying 500 charitable organizations throughout 29 counties in Southwest Texas. As a coach's aide, she played a crucial role in teaching, refining recovery and rehabilitation skills for 40 Air Force Wounded Warrior athletes to compete against 300 joint-service members at the DOD's Warrior Games across 11 events.

Airman Ronabelle D. Ybanez

UNIT: 559th Aerospace Medicine Squadron
DUTY TITLE: Public Health Technician
Airman Ronabelle D. Ybanez exemplified service before self by devoting five hours at the VA hospital food distribution drive. She provided logistical support, organized 3,000 pounds of food worth $6,000, and prepared 325 grocery bags that served 272 veterans. Ybanez embodies connectedness within the unit; she was able to recognize suicide risk factors and signs of distress while checking in on her Wingman, she acted swiftly in escorting them to receive potential lifesaving mental health services. She headed up a 16-week workout program promoting physical resiliency for five peers. She taught and guided SMART goals that increased cardio, endurance, and strength scores by 63%, achieving and almost 90% pass rate for three of their PFAs.
