JOINT BASE SAN ANTONIO-LACKLAND, Texas –
Col. Thomas Albrecht accepted command of the 433rd Airlift Wing Maintenance Group during an assumption of command ceremony at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland on March 2.
Col. William Gutermuth, 433rd Airlift Wing commander, presided over the ceremony and presented the 433rd MXG guidon to Albrecht.
“To the men and women of the maintenance group, thank you for your dedication,” said Gutermuth. “To Col. Albrecht, remember to trust your people, support them and keep your expectations clear.”
Albrecht gave thanks to his personal support structure and provided his expectations moving forward.
“I want to take this opportunity to thank my wife for being here and to the 433rd Maintenance Group for letting me be part of their future moving forward.,” Albrecht said. “I look forward to taking this group and building trust to venture into the future.”
Albrecht takes command of the 433rd MXG, leading more than 450 technicians across 25 Air Force specialty codes, and is responsible for executing a 2,500 flying hour program for eight C-5M aircraft valued at more than$1.4 billion.
