JOINT BASE SAN ANTONIO-FORT SAM HOUSTON, Texas –
Joint Base San Antonio officials identified a soldier who was found dead on JBSA-Fort Sam Houston Feb. 21 as 46-year-old U.S. Army Staff Sgt. Joshua Baker.
Baker, who joined the Army in 2009, was a human intelligence specialist assigned to the 470th Military Intelligence Brigade and has been stationed at JBSA-Fort Sam Houston since December of 2020.
He was found unresponsive near a storage lot on the installation.
“Joshua was a great leader and technician – he will be missed,” said Col. Patrick Miller, the 470th MI BDE commander. “Our deepest sympathies go out to his family.”
His military awards include Army Commendation Medals, Army Achievement Medals, and Army Good Conduct Medals.
The incident is under investigation.
