PRESS RELEASE: Security Forces Respond to Attempted Installation Breach at JBSA-Camp Bullis Access Control Point

JOINT BASE SAN ANTONIO-CAMP BULLIS, Texas – At approximately 4:22 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 21, 2023, security forces personnel responded when a person did not stop at the access control point at Joint Base San Antonio-Camp Bullis in Northwest San Antonio.
Security forces pursued the driver and took defensive measures when the suspected gate runner attempted to exit the installation via the inbound lane traveling at an excessive rate of speed.
The subject vehicle exited the installation and escaped on Northwest Military Highway. Security Forces alerted the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office and the San Antonio Police Department, who are canvassing the area.
No injuries to Air Force personnel or damage to Air Force property were reported in the installation breach.
The incident is currently under investigation and more details will be released as they become available.
At this time, the main entrance to JBSA-Camp Bullis is closed. Entry and exit will be at Gate 5, which is the Camp Stanley gate off Ralph Fair Road.
UPDATE: The main access control point at Joint Base San Antonio-Camp Bullis is now open.
