JOINT BASE SAN ANTONIO-LACKLAND, Texas –
JOINT BASE SAN ANTONIO-LACKLAND, Texas – At approximately 8:45 a.m. today, Aug. 24, 2023, Joint Base San Antonio Security Forces personnel responded to a suspicious package at the Luke Avenue East Gate at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, Texas
The Luke East Gate and Military Drive are currently closed, and a cordon has been established. Explosives Ordnance Disposal personnel are on scene. The suspect is in custody.
“The safety of our community is our top priority, and we are committed to providing JBSA personnel with a safe place to live and work,” said Anthony Owens, the incident commander. “Our trained professionals in security forces and EOD quickly responded and are working to address the situation.”
The incident is under investigation. More information will be released as it becomes available.
