JOINT BASE SAN ANTONIO-LACKLAND, Texas –
The Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland Military and Family Readiness Center hosted the inaugural Heart Link “Arrive & Thrive” event July 27 at the Security Forces Museum at JBSA-Lackland, Texas.
The event provided information about military culture while living on JBSA. Military commanders and senior leaders’ spouses spoke with the military members and spouses in the crowd, providing them with pertinent information and perspectives on how to deal with the challenges of military life.
Janet Driggers, wife of U.S. Air Force Brig. Gen. Russell Driggers, Joint Base San Antonio and 502nd Air Base Wing commander, spoke with attendees about the culture, customs and protocols of military life, including available resources such as the Five & Thrive program.
The initiative, started by Sharene Brown, spouse of the 22nd Chief of Staff of the Air Force, aims to enhance the quality of life for military families in the five key areas: childcare, education, healthcare, housing and spouse employment.
