JOINT BASE SAN ANTONIO-LACKLAND, Texas –
Airmen and family members from 960th Cyberspace Wing, 960th Cyber Operations Group, 960th Operations Support Flight and 50th Network Warfare Squadron spent an afternoon at the Vogel Resiliency Center’s Resiliency Kitchen at Joint Base San Antonio-Fort Sam Houston Feb. 21, 2023, as part of an offsite immersion day.
Physical resilience and healthy eating habits are an important component to the comprehensive Airman; the focus should not solely rely on the mental wellbeing of Airmen, but the holistic approach to ensure mission readiness.
The 960th CW director of psychological health has been coordinating quarterly offsite visits with community partners in order to help military members and families get firsthand experiences with the resources available.
By allowing groups to participate in different activities, engaging with resource providers, and learning about the community agency, the 960th CW is creating an experience where seeking help in any capacity is acceptable and welcomed. It is important to know what resources are available and how to utilize those resources, if not for yourself, then for other members in need.
The immersion day events are open to military members, civilians, and their families.
Chef Mary Long of the Vogel Resiliency Center helped to facilitate the culinary class and the menu was focused on providing anti-inflammatory options to support an agreeable and easily-prepared dietary intake.
