By Tristin English 502nd Air Base Wing Public Affairs

Students in the Combat Medic Specialist Training Program trained at Joint Base San Antonio-Camp Bullis Sept. 29 as part of their 16 weeks of initial training.

Soldiers go through a three-tier training program to become an Army combat medic. They complete casualty assessments, learn to apply a tourniquet, initiate IVs, dress battlefield wounds and conduct other complex medical procedures needed in combat.
