JOINT BASE SAN ANTONIO-LACKLAND, Texas –
The Air Force Postgraduate Dental School's Tri-Service Orthodontic Residency Program at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland is currently looking to evaluate patients for orthodontic treatment. All treatment is done by orthodontic residents under the supervision of board-certified orthodontists.
The criteria for qualifying for an evaluation is as follows:
Active duty:
- Must have two years remaining on station.
- Must be in the local JBSA area.
Dependents of active duty/retired members:
- Must range in age from 6-18 (19 if full time college attendance can be verified). No retirees or spouses of retirees will be evaluated.
- Cannot be currently undergoing orthodontic treatment by a civilian orthodontist
- Must be in the local JBSA area
- Must have at least two years remaining in area
"Acceptance is based on being an acceptable teaching case for an orthodontic resident and the needs of the residency," said. Col. (Dr.) Dale A. Nichols, Tri-Service Orthodontic Residency Program clinical director. "Only a limited number of people will qualify. If accepted, there is no cost for orthodontic treatment as part of the residency. Our goal is to provide the highest quality care and provide the residents with the highest quality education."
