JOINT BASE SAN ANTONIO-FORT SAM HOUSTON, Texas –
Due to below-freezing temperatures and hazardous road conditions, only mission-essential Joint Base San Antonio personnel, including BAMC staff supporting patient care, should report to work Feb. 17.
To ensure the safety of patients and staff and to conserve resources, BAMC has canceled all non-emergency procedures and medical appointments scheduled for Feb. 17.
To reschedule, please call the Consult Appointment Management Office, or CAMO, 210-916-9900. CAMO will be closed Wednesday and is anticipated to reopen Thursday, weather permitting. BAMC’s trauma and emergency services will remain operational.
Additionally:
- All COVID-19 vaccine appointments are being rescheduled for next week.
- COVID-19 screening and testing operations at BAMC will be closed Wednesday, Feb. 17, and reopen Thursday afternoon Feb. 18, weather permitting.
Supervisors are encouraged to consider telework, mission permitting, for their team members Feb. 17. Staff should contact their chain of command/supervisor to determine their status and for questions or concerns.
Temperatures are expected to remain below freezing today into Wednesday morning with freezing rain expected overnight. continue to bundle up while this record cold continues in South Central Texas.
