Luke Gate Construction: plan ahead for delays

Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland has been going through a transformation with new construction to update its infrastructure. As part of the latest phase of construction, security upgrades will be installed at the Luke East Gate (Gateway Gate) to improve the overall security of the base.

This construction will close a portion of Luke Boulevard, which will impact mission partners and visitors accessing JBSA-Lackland through the Luke East Gate.

To ease traffic congestion and delays, beneficiaries with scheduled appointments during the construction period are encouraged to arrive early and to use other gates along Military Drive, such as Selfridge, Valley Hi or Growton gates.

The Visitor Center will remain open while the upgrades are installed. Construction is slated to begin Jan. 2, 2020, and is estimated to be completed early February 2020.
