Unit: 959th Clinical Support Squadron

Duty title: 959th Medical Group Self-Assessment Program Monitor

Staff Sgt. Brooke L. Gaunska stands out amongst her peers by demonstrating outstanding performance and professionalism on a daily basis. She is full of energy and is capable of acting or reacting strongly regardless of the situation. A busy mother of two, a college student furthering her education, an active member throughout the squadron, group and wing, she does it all. She meticulously vetted and cleared 52 Self-Assessment Checklists, setting the 959th Medical Group for up success by ensuring compliance and identifying discrepancies for three squadrons.

Unit: 959th Medical Operations Squadron

Duty title: Unit Training Manager

Hometown:  Riverbank, CA

 

Staff Sgt. Jennifer Gonzalez volunteered to step out of her comfort zone as a Surgical Technician and into the unit training manager position for the 959th Medical Operations Squadron, a 700+ person squadron.  In this position she delivers monthly briefings to the commander and superintendent on the status of Airmen in upgrade training.  She truly excels at mentoring Airmen and guiding supervisors in our squadron. Lastly, she just finished 3 classes towards her Bachelor’s degree with a 3.8 grade point average. Gonzalez is a great Airman, leader and an asset to the Medical Group’s training team.

Unit: 668th Alteration Installation Squadron (ALIS)

Duty title: Civil Engineer Project Manager

Time in service: Nine Years

Hometown: San Antonio, Texas

 

Staff Sgt. Toney has impacted the Alteration Installation Squadron with his devotion to community service and his job.  He has been the team lead for 33 personnel covering 3 Alamo-dome events which helped raise $4,500 for the squadron. These events have helped him give back by coordinating a squadron burger burn and a pre-super bowl chili cook off giving top winners gift cards to local restaurants.

Unit: 24th Air Force

Duty title: Executive Assistant to the Command Chief

Time in service: 29 Jun 2004

Hometown: Ridgecrest, California

 

Tech. Sgt. Stepp is a valuable member of the command section that has gone above and beyond what is expected from him on a daily basis. In addition to being the executive assistant to the 24th Air Force command chief, which alone is a very busy position, Stepp has taken any free time he has had to backfill other positions within the command section staff.
