JOINT BASE SAN ANTONIO-LACKLAND, Texas –
The 59th Medical Wing officially opened its new Gateway Bulverde Clinic April 17, located at 25615 US Hwy 281, San Antonio, Texas, 78258.
“The 59th Medical Wing staff have truly enjoyed partnering with the Department of Veterans Affairs and sharing facilities at the North Central Federal Clinic,” said Col. Robert Bogart, commander, 59th Medical Operations Group at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland.
"However, both the VA and the 59th Medical Wing require additional space to accommodate a growing demand for primary care--and in locations that are more convenient for our patients.”
The new facility is located on the second floor of Bulverde’s Baptist Emergency Hospital, outside Loop 1604, near Overlook Parkway and just off Highway 281.
It features comprehensive family health care with on-site laboratory and pharmacy services. Radiology services are provided on the first floor of the building through a partnership with Baptist Health.
“Gateway Bulverde has teams of primary care providers, including nurses and medical technicians, who provide a full range of health care services,” Bogart said. “Additionally, we are thrilled to be able to offer the convenience of a full-service pharmacy. In order to meet the needs of our military patients in this fast developing area, we have adequate space for future growth within this new facility.”
Department of Defense patients currently enrolled to the North Central Federal Clinic are automatically moved to the Gateway Bulverde Clinic, and can make appointments by calling the Consult and Appointment Management Office at 210-916-9900, or online at http://www.tricareonline.com.
The hours of operation for the Gateway Bulverde Clinic are from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday except federal holidays.
