COLUMBUS AIR FORCE BASE, Miss. - Lt. Col. Eddie Altizer, 48th Flying Training Squadron commander, gives final remarks during the T-1A Jayhawk retirement ceremony in the T-1 maintenance hangar at Columbus Air Force Base, Miss., March 25, 2026. Over the course of three decades, the T-1 platform was used to train one-third of the U.S. Air Force’s pilots, serving as the foundation for the mobility and special operations fleets.
