FIRE WEEK SMOKE ALARMS

JOINT BASE SAN ANTONIO, Texas - The Joint Base San Antonio Fire and Emergency Services is teaming up with the National Fire Protection Association — the official sponsor of Fire Prevention Week for more than 100 years — to promote this year’s FPW campaign, “Smoke alarms: Make them work for you!” JBSA F&ES is hosting a series of events in support of this year’s FPW campaign at all three operating locations, including appearances throughout the week by “Sparky the Fire Dog” at all child development centers, youth centers, post and base exchanges, libraries, commissaries, and all installation elementary schools. The next open house takes place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Oct. 19 at Fire Station No. 5 at JBSA-Fort Sam Houston, located at 3935 Winans Road, building 1704. There will be fire extinguisher training, a vehicle extrication demonstration, fire truck displays and the Sparky House, Enjoy a hot do with Sparky as well!
