Ramstein Air Base, Germany - An example of the American-British cooperation during the Berlin Airlift was the ground control led approach equipment used to land transport aircraft from several countries every minute during frequent periods of poor visibility. Here, both USAF and RAF radar men work side-by-side to operate the GCA at Gatow Airfield in the British sector of Berlin. Left to right: RAF Cpl. William Black, Aberdeen, Scotland; RAF Flt. Lt. Allen Green, Bournemouth, England; USAF Master Sgt. Wilfred Kranz, Harbor Beach, Michigan; RAF Flt. Lt. Edward Attwell, Lincolnshire; RAF Cpl.
