JOINT BASE SAN ANTONIO-LACKLAND, Texas - A U.S. Air Force member participating in the survival, evasion, resistance, and escape (SERE) selection process participates in the Mega MURPH Challenge at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland on Sept. 10, 2024. SERE selection is a three-week screening process that happens upon completion of basic military training and determines if an individual is a valid candidate for SERE specialist training. The screening consists of rigorous physical fitness assessments, tests the candidate’s psychological resilience, and demands proficiency in critical skills such as land navigation and survival.
