City of San Antonio recognizes USAF Birthday
240912-F-NB144-1008.JPG Photo By: Taylor Curry

SAN ANTONIO, Texas - Ron Nirenberg (center left), Mayor of San Antonio, and Brig. Gen. Randy Oakland, Joint Base San Antonio and 502nd Air Base Wing commander, cut a cake in honor of the U.S. Air Force’s 77th birthday, at City Council Chambers in San Antonio, Texas, Sept. 12, 2024. Each year, this tradition is held at the chambers and a slice of cake is passed to the oldest airman and then to the youngest, to not only recognize the anniversary of the branch, but to symbolize the relationship the city has with JBSA.
