JBSA-Fort Sam Houston Commissary receives $10,000 check for winning display

JOINT BASE SAN ANTONIO-FORT SAM HOUSTON, Texas - Mickey Chandler (left), OSCWebco sales representative, presents a ceremonial check of $10,000 to U.S. Army Col. Marie F. Slack (center), 502nd Force Support Group commander, and Aretha Queen (right), Joint Base San Antonio-Fort Sam Houston Commissary Officer, at the commissary July 18. The received the $10,000 check from a cereal company for an innovative product display, beating out all 179 continental U.S. commissaries. The Post Cereal Display competition was in recognition of Purple Up for Month of the Military Child, which was in April. The Month of the Military Child contest allowed commissaries from across the nation to show their support for children who go through so many changes as their parents serve their country.
