Flight nurse from Greece comes to civilian’s aid during medical emergency
JOINT BASE SAN ANTONIO-LACKLAND, Texas - From left to right: Orlando Dona, Air Force Security Assistance Training Squadron Country Manager; Capt. Aikaterini Sigala, Hellenic Air Force flight nurse; and Josie Nelson, Defense Language Institute English Language Center Country Program manager. Sigala was presented a Certificate of Appreciation and a commander’s coin, Aug. 4, 2023, for coming to the aid of a maintenance worker who fell following an epileptic seizure. She attended to the young man's injuries until paramedics arrived. Sigala is a 13-year flight nurse in the Greek Air Force and is currently a student at DLIELC at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland.
