New bereavement leave policy provides for Soldier well-being

WASHINGTON - Then-Private Allen Mattox, holds his wife, Paige Mattox, during an observance for parents, families and staff members who have suffered the loss of a child during infancy or pregnancy to gather in a social setting for support, education and release of balloons in remembrance of their children in October 2016. Soldiers who have lost their children on or before June 25, 2022 may qualify for up to 14 consecutive days of non-chargeable bereavement leave if they meet certain conditions. Soldiers who suffered a miscarriage or stillbirth are not eligible.
