221111-A-IT014-002.JPG Photo By: Jose Rodriguez

SAN ANTONIO, Texas - As part of the U.S. Medical Center of Excellence’s Veterans Day presentation at the Torah Academy of San Antonio, students met a military working dog in-training named “EEphy,” courtesy of Lora Harrist from the Military Working Dog Foster Volunteer program. During the one-hour hands-on presentation, the students, ranging from kindergarten to seventh grade, also got to experience what it is like to have a job in the Army Veterinary Corps including examining kosher Army Meals-Ready-to-Eat using methods similar to the Corps’ food inspectors and even learned how to dress a notional wound on the Diesel Canine Simulator.
