Station "X" marker at Port San Antonio

SAN ANTONIO, Texas - (From left) Jim Perschbach, Port San Antonio president and CEO; Brig. Gen. Russell Driggers, 502nd Air Base Wing and Joint Base San Antonio commander; Chief Master Sgt. Casy Boomershine, 502nd ABW and JBSA Command Chief; and Kent Knudson, Fort Worth, Texas historian, attended the unveiling dedication of Station "X" marker at Port San Antonio May 21. During World War II, more than 1,000 maintainers based at Kelly Field (now part of Port San Antonio's large campus) volunteered as a part of a top-secret mission known as Station X.
