JOINT BASE SAN ANTONIO-FORT SAM HOUSTON, Texas - Brian Hoffman, 502nd Air Base Wing vice director, speaks after an unveiling of a plaque at Joint Base San Antonio-Fort Sam Houston’s golf course Jan. 25, 2022. The plaque commemorated the Professional Golfers’ Association use of the Fort Sam Houston course over four different times for the Valero Texas Open. The Texas Open first added Fort Sam Houston to the rotation in 1950 when the field exceeded 300 contestants, making it the only military installation to host a PGA Tour event.
