Students in the June 2019 Expeditionary Combat Medic Pilot Course simulate transfusing Low Titer Group “O” fresh whole blood to a simulated casualty during the prolonged care culminating field training exercise conducted by the U.S. Army Medical Center of Excellence at Joint Base San Antonio-Camp Bullis, Texas.  The Army anticipates challenges to patient evacuation and movement in the future operating environment, demanding an increased scope of practice for advanced enlisted medical providers. These concepts were transferred to the new Combat Paramedic Course pilot program that began in January 2020.
