Joint Base San Antonio service members from the Joint Personal Property Shipping Office perform a prisoner-of-war and missing-in-action presentation during a POW/MIA Recognition Ceremony at JBSA-Lackland Kelly Field, Texas, Sept. 20, 2019. National POW/MIA Recognition Day is a day to remember more than 82,000 Americans remain missing from World War II, the Korean War, the Vietnam War, the Cold War, the Gulf War and other conflicts. Americans are asked to pause and reflect on the sacrifices made by the military men and women who are imprisoned or unaccounted for as a result of their military service and also reaffirming our promise never to relent in our quest to locate the Soldiers, Sailors, Marines, Airmen, Coast Guardsmen, Merchant Marines, and civilians who remain missing in action.
