Members of the Fort Sam Houston Honor Guard remove the casket containing the remains of Army Maj. Donald G. Carr from the caisson for a memorial service at the Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery May 11. The Special Forces officer was lost while on a forward air controller mission in 1971. Maj. Carr's remains were found in 2014 and verified in 2016. He was buried at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery with full honors.

JOINT BASE SAN ANTONIO-FORT SAM HOUSTON, Texas - Members of the Fort Sam Houston Honor Guard remove the casket containing the remains of Army Maj. Donald G. Carr from the caisson for a memorial service at the Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery May 11. The Special Forces officer was lost while on a forward air controller mission in 1971. Maj. Carr's remains were found in 2014 and verified in 2016. He was buried at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery with full honors.
