Apache leader Geronimo (center) with other Apache men on the grounds of the Quadrangle in 1886. The U.S. Army held Geronimo and 32 other Apache men, women and children prisoner inside the Quadrangle for approximately six weeks. The Quadrangle is one of the oldest buildings at present-day Joint Base San Antonio-Fort Sam Houston.

JOINT BASE SAN ANTONIO-FORT SAM HOUSTON, Texas - Apache leader Geronimo (center) with other Apache men on the grounds of the Quadrangle in 1886. The U.S. Army held Geronimo and 32 other Apache men, women and children prisoner inside the Quadrangle for approximately six weeks.
