Betty Beard served in the Women's Army Corp during World War II and celebrated her 100th birthday at the Dodd Field Chapel at Joint Base San Antonio-Fort Sam Houston April 11. Beard served during World War II and achieved the rank of technical sergeant, as well as meeting her husband while in the WAC. The Protestant Women of the Chapel threw the birthday bash for the new centenarian.

JOINT BASE SAN ANTONIO-FORT SAM HOUSTON, Texas - Betty Beard served in the Women's Army Corp during World War II and celebrated her 100th birthday at the Dodd Field Chapel at Joint Base San Antonio-Fort Sam Houston April 11. Beard served during World War II and achieved the rank of technical sergeant, as well as meeting her husband while in the WAC. The Protestant Women of the Chapel threw the birthday bash for the new centenarian.
