JOINT BASE SAN ANTONIO-LACKLAND, Texas - A San Antonio worker tills the ground at Kelly Field in 1919 as squadrons of U.S. planes fly overhead. During the early 20th century, pilots at the airfield had to land on an unpaved segment of dirt and grass.
