Airman 1st Class Bianca Maldonado, 559th Trainee Health Squadron, has performed over 1,000 eye examinations to include specialty testing for basic trainees while serving our active duty population. Her professionalism led to 100 percent patient satisfaction reported. She initiated a lean daily management process to reduce the shipping costs of mailing out patient’s glasses by over 50 percent. Additionally, Maldonado temporarily performed duties of the Reid Clinic’s Optometry Section noncommissioned officer in charge for six weeks during a manning deficit. Despite the demanding nature of this position, she successfully executed the sections mission requirements with zero reported discrepancies. Maldonado is the epitome of the Air Force core values. Maldonado hails from Haverstraw, N.Y., and has been in the Air Force for one year and three months.
