Lt. Col. Christopher G. Hawn is Director of Operations, 94th Flying Training Squadron, 306th Flying Training Group, 12th Flying Training Wing, U.S. Air Force Academy, Colo. He is responsible for directing the largest sailplane operation in North America in support of the U.S. Air Force Academy's mission to develop leaders of character. He leads a cadre of officers in teaching the basics of flight and instruction to the newest and youngest students and instructor pilots in the Air Force. He supervises two national champion-caliber intercollegiate sailplane flying teams, and assists in the oversight of a multi-million dollar civilian maintenance/tow contract for a fleet of 24 aircraft of three different varieties.
