Llingo, a 16-week old military working dog in training, greets the community during Air Force at the Alamo April 20. The breeding program foster consultants attend the event each year to explain the unique capabilities and vital mission of military working dogs, and the critical role families who foster canine pups entering the MWD program have in saving lives and resources at home and deployed locations. Fiesta San Antonio, the city's 11-day historical celebration, began as a one-time parade in 1891 to honor the memory of the heroes of the Alamo and the Battle of San Jacinto. Over the past century, Fiesta has grown into a celebration of San Antonio's rich and diverse cultures.
