DeWayne Henderson, manager of the Lackland Saddle Club at Lackland Air Force Base, Texas, is mounted on his horse, Risky, explaining the Civil War uniform and Soldier's life during the war, to the Defense Language Institute English Language Center staff and faculty, AMIGO Sponsors and international students present. The break from the classroom allowed the students to use their new English skills to communicate with picnic attendees. The DLIELC is responsible for teaching English to international military and civilians from more than 90 allied countries.
