Prince A. Valair, from 12th Flying Training Wing Maintenance Directorate,  greets Retired Lt. Col. Donald Wheeler as he lands during a ceremony Thursday commemorating the 50th anniversary of the arrival of the T-38 at Randolph.  Originally nicknamed the white rocket, the T-38 became the Air Force's first supersonic jet trainer. The aircraft is used to prepare Air Force pilots for front-line fighter and bomber aircraft such as the F-15E Strike Eagle, B-1B Lancer and F-22 Raptor.
