An aircraft lifting sling is moved into place by members of the 12th flying Training Wing T-38 Crash Recovery Team, during an exercise May 14 at Randolph Air Force Base, Texas. After the sling is placed on the T-38 trainer, the sling is hooked to a crane which places tension on the lines. In an actual crash the aircraft would be lifted off of the runway.
