LACKLAND AIR FORCE BASE, Texas — San Antonio Water System contractors lower the shield section of a 500,000 gallon water tower during its dismantling here June 28. The historic 155-foot elevated storage tank stood as a landmark on Security Hill since 1951 before being razed to create 22 parking spaces. Known by base engineers as 2002 Hall Boulvard, the all-steel structure will be recycled by a local scrap dealer. (U.S. Air Force photo by William Belcher)
