A display board showcases squadron history during the commemoration of the 70th anniversary of the 39th Flying Training Squadron in Bellingham, Wash., Oct. 15, 2011.  In the days following the attack on Pearl Harbor, members of the then 39th Fighter Squadron arrived at the Bellingham Airport where they would fly out of to conduct antisubmarine patrols along the West Coast.  As a reserve associate unit to the 12th Flying Training Wing, the now 39th FTS was moved to Randolph AFB, Texas in September 2007 and trains instructor pilots. (Courtesy photo)
